Evgeny Vereshchagin (Russia): 'Evgeny Vereshchagin's sculpture is a creative search for new forms and plastic structures. The artist finds
global solutions to his creations on various themes. He creates new generalized images that are sometimes grotesque, sometimes
symbolical, sometimes almost abstract. And as a whole, through his personal vision, he creates unique, outstandingly interesting
sculptural compositions that transfer sensation of epoch – both the one when the works are created, and the one that’s
a subject of the work. Transformations of light and shade create profound tension in some pieces, emphasize lyricism
in others. The artist creates very special sculptures in a "nu" genre that combine soft sensuality of a female image
with magnificent plastic expressiveness of forms. The artist absorbed the traditions of monumental sculpture of the Stroganov
art school and preserves them in his chamber works.'
